Mapillai Samba is an indigenous rice variety from Tamil Nadu. Mapillai in Tamil means bridegroom. Traditionally this rice is given to bridegrooms for strength and immunity.
Increases strength and immunity. Diabetes friendly. This rice is suited to all ages for increased strength. Low in carbohydrates and sugar, Mapillai Samba is suitable for diabetes patients. It improves digestion and helps to cure ulcers.
Uses: Cook like normal rice after soaking for about 90 minutes. If consumed after keeping cooked rice in water overnight, cures ulcers and gives high energy. Used to make dosa and idli.
